The "DIVINE ONKAR MISSION" is a non-religeous,UK based charity and was founded by Tersam Lal Nagi, a man of simple means who's compassion was inspired by an operation to restore his eyesight.
Since his operation he has worked tirelessly to provide assistance to the sick as well as victimsof natural disasters.
His ongoing work is to create better living standards for the poor by providing education and training opportunities.
The Divine Onkar Mission is a registeredcharity which was established in 1991, in Wolverhampton, with the aim of helping the most needy in some of the most remote parts of India.
Since then, the DOM have established hospitals and orphanages in Bihar and Orissa, have set up agricultural projects to encourage people to grow their own food, and run a leprosy project in Delhi, where victims of the disease are treated and re-housed or provided with long-term care.
They have also embarked on a well building project andseveral have already been built.
They also run a training project for widows, to enablethem to support themselves and their children.
100% of donations go to fund the projects, this is a figure which is believed to be unmatched by any other charity.
The Divine Onkar Mission has 2 sources of income: donations and a charity shop.
